macOS Big Sur elevates the most advanced desktop operating system in the world to a new level of power and beauty. Experience Mac to the fullest with a refined new design. Enjoy the biggest Safari update ever. Discover new features for Maps and Messages. Get even more transparency around your privacy.

I just went through a little bit of pain to get my MacBook Pro upgraded from Leopard (10.5.8) to Mountain Lion (10.8) so I thought I'd put together a series of posts to save you some time. Here are some things I learned while upgrading: 1. The App Store was introduced in the Snow Leopard (10.6.6) update. Because in order to upgrade to Mountain Lion, you have to be able to access the Mac Apps Store, in order to purchase, download and install Mountain Lion. To be able to access the Mac Apps Store you must have Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard or higher in order for the Mac Apps to be accessible. OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8) OS X Mavericks (version 10.9) If you're running a version of Snow Leopard prior to version 10.6.8, you must upgrade to that version.

Chances are, your Mac can run macOS Big Sur
